HAPPY FRIDAY…
A FIRST SMALL HARVEST!

PHOTO: SOPHIA HOME

'French Breakfast' radishes….always the first to crop….signalling the start of new life in the kitchen garden here at home.

Simple and quick to grow and highly nutritious, being rich in both ascorbic and folic acid and potassium, and also a good source of vitamin B6, riboflavin, magnesium, copper and calcium, so super healthy!

Always a favourite here at home over the summer  to have with drinks,  served simply with salt.

Crunchy, fresh and peppery, the perfect addition to a salad made with the first of the mixed leaves grown in the greenhouse, along with beautiful edible chive heads and violas….

  1. What a pretty salad!!! I'm in Maine unpacking boxes, and it is still cold here - trees bare and no sight of spring yet. Happy weekend!
